Meet Our Physician

Olu Sangodeyi is the owner, President and CEO of Med-Surg Physician Group, Inc.

 

His main specialty is general and adult pediatric surgery.  His training as a physician is broad and comprehensive.  As a general surgeon, he is involved in trauma care.  He is the Medical Director of Trauma Services as Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, West Virginia.

​

He is involved in General Medical Practice and Office Based Medication Assisted Addiction Treatment where he supervises mid-level providers.

​

Dr. Sangodeyi is board certified in general surgery and wound care.  He is currently on the medical staff of Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital and Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, West Virginia.

​

He is also experienced in laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

​

He graduated top of his class at the prestigious University of Ibadan Medical College, Nigeria.

​

He completed his surgical education at Allegheny General Hospital, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in addition to Children Hospitals in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Denver, Colorado.

​

His interest in global health and preventative medicine prompted him to obtain more education at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Public Health where he received a certificate in global health.

​

He is the co-founder and the President of World Health Mission Organization dedicated to providing free health care to those in need in any part of the world.

​

He has served in many health care administrative positions to include but not limited to President of Medical Staff and Head of the Department of Surgery.

​

He has been on the Board of Directors at Hospitals and served as interim CEO of a hospital.

​

He strongly believes in the right of all human beings to seek good health.  He believes good health allows us to live a meaningful, pleasant and productive life.

​

He subscribes to the World Health Organization definition of Health as "The state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity." Dr. Sangodeyi believes that surgery is one of the means to good health.

​

His mission is to use the art and science of surgery to alleviate human suffering produced by injuries and diseases.

​

He expects that his patients fully participate in their health care.
